The Design team for Brigham Young University in Hawaii discovered a special Natural Reed material by Lumicor called "Autumn Zitto Light" which became the focal point of their custom luminaire design. It is a mostly transparent material so it stands off of a white acrylic frame by 1" for proper light diffusion.
According to Lumicor's website, "Hand placement of reeds which are ecologically harvested from sustainable crops makes each panel distinct and the reeds capture the ambiance of exotic locations and reflect the elegance of nature."
This is very fitting for the Hawaii campus. The pendants were designed in 2 sizes; one with a twin tube fluorescent light source in a 30"H x 16 1/2"W body, and one with a linear fluorescent in a 40"H body. Wall sconces with similar accents were also designed to complement the pendants.
The custom fixtures featured at the Brigham Young University - Hawaii are just another example of how Visa Lighting continutes to Perform Beautifully.
