Visa Lighitng’s Serenity 2x2 and Headwall luminaires have received recognition by Next Generation Lighting Systems (NGLS). NGLS is organized by the Department of Energy in partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and is managed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Experienced industry professionals from a wide range of practices comprise NGLS evaluation teams. Using detailed protocols to collect and assess feedback, the teams observe, document, and measure how systems are installed and configured, how well they perform, and how users operate them. Evaluators use observational research in “living lab” environments to witness the interaction of products and people, and technology and technique. Currently, NGLS conducts subjective evaluations at three “living labs”:
The Serenity family features illuminated diffusers with soft, calming patterns. This creates a serene positive distraction, allowing occupants and patients to feel more relaxed. These products feature easily cleanable surfaces with housings designed to improve the patient experience with even illumination, amber reading output option, and residential-like aesthetics.
